Our Founder

Ronald S. Friedman, CPA is the Firm's Founder and Managing Principal.   He has spent his business career (started at age 13) treating entrepreneurship as a profession.

His client responsibilities consist predominantly of C-level advisory services, entrepreneurial consulting, financial statement audit and assurance engagements (including SEC work), and tax planning for businesses and individuals.

Being a South Florida native, he has developed contacts throughout the area to better serve the Firm's clients. These relationships which include members of the banking, legal and financial services sectors have proven to be valuable resources for our clients. Entrepreneurial spirit interweaved with accounting acumen is what Ron achieves as an individual, as a business owner, and as a trusted advisor.

Ron graduated from the University of Florida in May 1983 and is active in many civic, social, academic, and business organizations in the South Florida area. Immediately after graduating from the University of Florida in 1983, Ron began his career with Kaufman, Rossin & Co. (KR) in the audit department. In 1986 he started his own CPA firm, and in 1996 he merged his practice with Andy, his University of Florida classmate, forming Friedman, Cohen, Taubman & Company, CPAs, (FCT) a boutique CPA firm located in Broward County, Florida, where he served as Managing Partner.  From 1996 through 2012, Ron provided audit, tax, and advisory services to a wide variety of clients, ranging from small businesses to publicly traded companies.  In 2012, Ron merged FCT with KR (now one of Florida's largest CPA firms).  Because of Ron's business experience and strong relationships with the legal community, Ron served as KR's Law Firm Group Practice Leader.  In 2014, because he missed the challenges and rewards of business ownership, Ron re-established his boutique CPA practice - the Friedman CPA Group.

As a passionate entrepreneur, Ron started and successfully grew (besides his CPA firm) several other businesses, gaining real-life insights and business acumen which he enjoys sharing with his clients.  Ron's clients benefit from 20+ years of experience as a business owner and 30+ years as a licensed CPA, receiving practical, real world business advice.

Ron is active in many civic, social, academic and business organizations in South Florida. In 2013, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Jewish Community Services. In his spare time, Ron is an avid golfer and, together with his wife and adult children, the Friedman family and the Friedman CPA Group support numerous charitable events for Multiple Sclerosis and the American Cancer Society.
